Château L’Escart Cuvée O’Khayyam

Passion has been the driving force for this family for decades. Its 37-hectare vineyard in one unbroken plot produces several different labels and encapsulates a single-minded ambition: to produce not only outstanding wines every year but also ones that trigger emotion. Located on the outskirts of Bordeaux on clay-limestone soils with fine gravel, the vines are an average 60 years old.

Since 1752, the different generations at Château L’Escart have borrowed the land from the following generation, all of them guided by their respect for vineyard management.

An environmentally-friendly approach to vines, wine growing and people ensures production of sound wines in keeping with the family’s ethos and spirit that live up to the standards of the artisans who helped produced them.

Gérard Laurent is passionate about traditional agricultural heritage and makes wines with heart and soul designed to be enjoyed. Malbec is blended with Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon to produce the Eden label, with Cabernet-Sauvignon for O’Khayyam.
