Château Haut-Rocher

In 2010, Béatrice and Jérôme de Monteil decided it was time for a complete change of career and lifestyle and threw themselves wholeheartedly into running Château Haut-Rocher. It has been owned by the family since the 15th century and is located within the original boundaries of the Saint-Emilion wine region, in the village of Saint-Etienne de Lisse. Some people thought they were mad, others believed it was out of ambition, or out of a love of wine or to write another chapter in the property’s history. Whatever the reason, the couple’s adventure continues, guided by their unfailing drive to maximise the quality of their wines.

The property boasts 13 hectares of vines – 8ha in the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation area and 5ha in Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux , respectively producing Château Haut-Rocher and Château Bréhat.

Their commitment is also financial and they have invested significantly in the vineyards and winery. Béatrice and Jérôme de Monteil continue to raise the bar in terms of standards, whilst aiming for organic certification by making a firm commitment to environmental management.

With the support of their team of technicians and consultant winemaker Thomas Duclos, they are realising their ambitions, an achievement underpinned by their authentic and generous Saint-Emilion vineyards.
