Château du Bernat Bordeaux Rosé

Located on a bedrock of fossil-rich limestone dating from the Eocene epoch, not far from the quarries where the same family excavates the famous Frontenac stone, Château du Bernat’s 29 hectares of vines have been situated in the Bordeaux appellation area, in Jugazan, in the Entre-Deux-Mers since 1962.

The Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet-Sauvignon grapes produce red and rosé wines labelled AOC Bordeaux that are expressive yet soft, whilst the Sauvignon reveals minerality stemming from these soils full of life boasting a regular supply of water.

Over the past decade or so, greater emphasis on quality has become clearly tangible with investments in the vineyards and the winery conducive to producing a superior range of wines. The arrival of Thomas Duclos in 2014 and a perfect understanding of the soils by the second generation now in the driving seat have yielded very accessible, quality wines.
